I'M BACK!

Hi Everyone,
I promise I have not dropped off the face of the earth, ok well maybe for a little while. I had all intentions of posting once a day for a year and we all see how that went. I do have good news though, I am going to be starting a new series (that doesn't require a post everyday). The series is going to be called Project Life: Enjoying the Moments. I am going to be starting a Project Life scrapbook, this is something I have wanted to do for awhile now and I have finally ordered it. Whoo! As soon as it comes in I will be posting about it and we will get started.

What is Project Life?

Why did I choose Project Life?
I chose to do Project Life becuse I love how simple it is. I was a traditional scrapbooker for most of my life. I have every tool anyone could ever need or want and I have more paper, glitter, markers, and adhesive then anyone could ever use. That is all good and the traditional scrabooks that I do have I love and cherish. They sit on my coffee table as an everyday fixture and I look at them quite a bit. So what is the problem you ask? My last layout was in 2005! That is 7 years ago and I don't know about you but my life has not stopped because I have not added to my scrapbook. In fact I have had LOTS of life happen that I feel guilty that I have not preserved. I am not one to just put pictures in an album and be done with it. I have to have everything perfect and if that means spending a day on a layout so be it. I just don't have that kind of now. I want to have time to live my life without feeling guilty that I am taking time away from friends and family. Now with Project Life I can sit down once a week and scrapbook my whole week. The layout is the ssame from week to week; I just have to add text and pictures. Say I went to a wedding or I was sick and didn't do anything, it doesn't matter. Whatever I did that week was my life and it deserves to be remembered because doing the laundry is just a much a part of my life as going on vacation. It's the moments that make me, me and whether it's a big event or just normal everyday things it is who I am and it deserves to be remembered.

So there is an overview of what is to come with Alley Cats Corner. I hope you are as excited about it as I am.

Who can find a virtuous woman? For her value is far above Rubies. Her children arise up and call her blessed. A woman that fears the Lord, she shall be praised. - Proverbs 31

Saturday's Song

Between The Lines
By: Sara Bareilles

Time to tell me the truth
To burden your mouth for what you say
No pieces of paper in the way
Cause i cant continue pretending to choose
These opposite sides on which we fall
The loving you laters if at all
No right minds could wrong be this many times

My memory is cruel
I'm queen of attention to details
Defending intentions if he fails
Until now, he told me her name
It sounded familiar in a way
I could have sworn I'd heard him say it ten thousand times
If only i had been listening

Leave unsaid unspoken
Eyes wide shut unopened
You and me
Always between the lines
Between the lines

I thought i thought i was ready to bleed
That we'd move from the shadows on the wall
And stand in the center of it all
Too late two choices to stay or to leave
Mine was so easy to uncover
He'd already left with the other
So I've learned to listen through silence

Leave unsaid unspoken
Eyes wide shut unopened
You and me be
You and me always be

I tell myself all the words he surely meant to say
I'll talk until the conversation doesn't stay on
Wait for me I'm almost ready
When he meant let go

Leave unsaid unspoken
Eyes wide shut unopened
You and me
Always be
You and me
Always between the lines

Thankful Thursday

Today, I am thankful for a job. As the large employer that I worked for has decided to close its doors. I feel for all of the families that it has and will effect. You are all in my prayers.

Tackle It Tuesday

Today for Tackle It Tuesday I am going to be making a card for a wedding gift that I will be giving. With this card I used my gypsy and wielded some shapes together. It tuned out good but not exactly as I wanted it to.

Monday Memories

Anyone who knows me knows that I am addicted to ketchup! I am very brand loyal and do not like to share my ketchup! Well one of my friends was over and she was eating a hamburger and French fries and I offered her some of my ketchup without hesitation (I am trying to work on my addiction and sharing of my ketchup.) After I handed it to her I said, “Aren’t you proud of me?” She responded, “Yes, but it would have been better if you didn’t roll your eyes as you were giving it to me!” Oh well I guess, my habits run deep!

In "Others" Words Sunday

It’s just … this simple! Life is too short. Grudges are a waste of perfect happiness. Laugh when you can. Apologize when you should, and let go of what you can’t change. Love deeply and forgive quickly. Take chances. Give everything and have no regrets. Life is too short to be unhappy. You have to take the good with the bad and for sure smile when you're sad. Love what you got and always remember what you had. Always forgive but never forget. Learn from your mistakes but never regret. People change and things go wrong but always remember that life goes on.

Saturday's Song

Blessings
By: Laura Story

We pray for blessings
We pray for peace
Comfort for family, protection while we sleep
We pray for healing, for prosperity
We pray for Your mighty hand to ease our suffering
All the while, You hear each spoken need
Yet love us way too much to give us lesser things

'Cause what if Your blessings come through raindrops
What if Your healing comes through tears
What if a thousand sleepless nights
Are what it takes to know You’re near
What if trials of this life are Your mercies in disguise

We pray for wisdom
Your voice to hear
And we cry in anger when we cannot feel You near
We doubt Your goodness, we doubt Your love
As if every promise from Your Word is not enough
All the while, You hear each desperate plea
And long that we'd have faith to believe

'Cause what if Your blessings come through raindrops
What if Your healing comes through tears
What if a thousand sleepless nights
Are what it takes to know You’re near
And what if trials of this life are Your mercies in disguise

When friends betray us
When darkness seems to win
We know that pain reminds this heart
That this is not, this is not our home
It's not our home

'Cause what if Your blessings come through raindrops
What if Your healing comes through tears
And what if a thousand sleepless nights
Are what it takes to know You’re near
What if my greatest disappointments
Or the aching(s) of this life
Is the revealing of a greater thirst this world can’t satisfy
And what if trials of this life
The rain, the storms, the hardest nights
Are Your mercies in disguise

Thankful Thursday

This Thankful Thursday I am thankful for the trials of this life. I know that it may sound like and odd think to be thankful for but after listening to the song for Saturday’s Song it puts some things into perspective. Life is not always rainbows and butterflies, you go through some hard things in your life but it is only to make you stronger! God will not give you struggles that you are not prepared for or strong enough for. You can do all things through Christ who strengthens you!

Tackle It Tuesday

This week for Tackle It Tuesday I wrapped a gift for one of my Thirty-One hostesses. She has been a great help for me and getting my business off of the ground. (Its something that she really wants, but don’t tell!)  I made the box by hand and the flowers with my Cricut.

Saturday's Song

Secret O’ Life
By: James Taylor
CD: One Man Band
The secret of life is enjoying the passage of time
Any fool can do it
There ain’t nothing to it
Nobody knows how we got to
The top of the hill
But since we’re on our way down
We might as well enjoy the ride

The secret of life is in opening up your heart
It’s okay to feel afraid
But don’t let that stand in your way
‘Cause anyone knows that love is the only road
And since we’re only here for a while
Might as well show some style
Give us a smile

Isn’t it a lovely ride
Sliding down
Gliding down
Try not to try too hard
It’s just a lovely ride

Now the thing about time is that time
Isn’t really real
It’s just your point of view
How does it feel for you
Einstein said he could never understand it all
Planets spinning through space
The smile upon your face
Welcome to the human race

Thankful Thursday

Well today for Thankful Thursday, I am thankful for one of my best friends Kristen. Even though we are several hundred miles apart she is always there for me. No matter what I need from just someone to talk to, to a laugh (Ben Button!), to playing a game together or separate. She has been a great friend and always there for me. Thanks Kristen for your friendship it has meant the world to me.

Tackle It Tuesday

I had seen a project on a tile that I had wanted to try, so I decited to do it for Tackle It Tuesday! It was very simple I just picked a few pieces of cardstock and two punches. I typed the verse on the computer and printed it off. I glued everything down wiht Mod Podge (the one that you can see the brush strokes in). I used a photo easel to stand it up. It was so easy and would make a great gift.

Monday Memories

This photo was taken at a wedding just a few houses down from the lake house. It was a very nice wedding, right before the ceremony started it absolutely poured cats and dogs. It rained the entire ceremony and then this very beautiful sunset was reviled.
